Do we all really know what folk songs are? Are
they the songs that country singers sing? Are they the songs that were sung a long time ago by the people in the South?
These are the types of things we're going to learn. Can you name at least two folk songs? If so, where did
you get them from? How did you learn them? Do you still sing them today?
As Americans, there are so many songs out there that we don't pay attention to. Songs such
as You're a Grand Ole Flag, or Dixie are classic examples. Here in this site we are going to explore
what categorizes a folk song and even try creating our own. Let's go!
